This is a natural petrified wood stool and side table, a solid section of fossilized tree trunk from Java, Indonesia. Petrified wood forms when buried wood is slowly replaced by minerals such as silica over millions of years, turning it into stone while keeping the tree's original rings and grain. Use it as a stool, low side table, low coffee table, plant stand or statement sculpture in a living room, entryway or covered patio.
Two pieces are available, and each is one of a kind. The sides of both are left natural, showing the original bark texture and characteristics of the tree, unlike many specimens that are fully polished. The photos show the actual pieces you will receive.

FAQ
What is petrified wood?
Petrified wood is fossilized tree wood in which the original plant material has been replaced by minerals over millions of years. The result is solid stone that still shows the tree's rings, bark texture and grain.
Can I use this petrified wood stump as a side table or coffee table?
Yes. At 12 in (30.48 cm) high with a flat top, it works as a low side table, low coffee table, footstool, plant stand or seat. It is especially suited to low-profile, wabi sabi and Japandi-style spaces, and many people also display it as a natural sculpture.
